Super good post! I live in Southern Arizona so Summer is the time of seasonal depression, interesting how perception of the seasons can differ. I will still miss the summer though, and the cold relief of its pools and summer showers. I will miss the bright mornings and the empty streets.

If the year was a cake, summer doesnt feel like a slice… write that down write that down

But yeah, we wait for the season then complain about it when it gets here and Cant wait for it to end… till we start freezing again lol

I grew up in the South so how you describe summer as fleeting in the Northeast is how the fall and spring feels like to us. However, I think this was a beautiful ode to summer and I agree that summer doesn't get as much appreciation.

I’m an autumn girl through and through but tbf I do sometimes feel like the season gets way too overhyped on social media/in collective imaginations! The best parts of it only ever stay for a few weeks anyway before it transitions into winter.

My senses are ablaze. I used to feel this way about Summer but it doesn’t hit the same once the crusty nails of adulthood sank into my flesh.

I'd still say fall is my favourite season, but I still need summer. I love the ease of not having to bundle up in layers to protect myself from cold or rain, the long hours of sun and beautiful flowers on long summer walks, flowy dresses and cool summer foods. I suppose I wouldn't mind it being a bit longer; living further north always cuts the warmer seasons short. Even the warm colours and comforting temperatures of fall don't last long enough before the darkness and barrenness of winter sets in, leaving a depressing period of time before the sparkling snow and Christmas lights return. Lovely writing!

Love love love this. I enjoy the coolness and cosiness of autumn but summer will always be my number one season, and it’s always painful letting it go. Thank you for sharing this 🧡

Such a dreamy reminder to savor every season

Though summer is not my cup of tea, I will enjoy the remnant sips in my cup <3

I don't think anyone has ever sold me on the idea of summer as much as this post has.
